PowerPoint® Presentations from 2006 Compliance Assistance Workshops on Diesel Rule
MSHA conducted a series of outreach seminars around the nation during June and July 2006 to assist metal and nonmetal underground mine operators in complying with regulations addressing the use of diesel powered equipment. The seminars addressed enforcement issues and answered questions about provisions of the final rule regarding the phased-in final limit, new requirements for medical evaluation of miners required to wear respiratory protection, and transfer of miners who are medically unable to wear a respirator. The seminars also addressed the requirement for special extensions of time to meet the final limit. A less structured workshop on diesel particulate matter (DPM) controls was held in the afternoon. These are the presentations that were given.
