"SEAT BELTS"

Safety and Health are Values!

Photo of Truck in Ditch Over the years, many miners who were not wearing or were not provided seat belt restraint systems, were killed in accidents involving moving vehicles at surface facilities.

Fatal accidents have occurred when individuals wearing their seat belts jumped from the vehicle only to be run over by the equipment they were operating.

Fatal accidents have also occurred when unrestrained miners were ejected from their equipment, or who jumped from out-of-control equipment. These accidents, typically do not result in damage to the cab area of the equipment. The safest procedure is to wear a seat belt and to stay in the cab. Do not try to escape by jumping.
