District 5 - Coal Mine Safety and Health
New Mine Operator


As a new mine operator, you will be required to submit information and plans to MSHA. This page was developed by the Mine Safety and Health Administration to assist you in this process. All submissions are subject to the District Manager's approval. Completing and submitting this form does not mean your plan has been approved. An approval or disapproval letter will be mailed from the local MSHA office. The following table lists the information and plans required to be submitted to your local MSHA office.You may need to change the address to the district having jurisdiction over your mine. The table contains links to example plans and relevant 30 CFR regulations which may assist you in meeting these requirements.  You may use these examples to assist you in this task.
