Over 10,000 children in Western Kentucky, were reached by the

MINE HAZARD AWARENESS CAMPAIGN: "STAY OUT-STAY ALIVE"

The participating schools were:

Classroom presentations on mine safety were conducted at each school. Children learned about the dangers of both active and abandoned mines. They were shown pictures of mine operations and equipment. Posters, stickers, and bookmarks were handed out at all of the selected schools. MSHA commends their continuing efforts to the safety and welfare of children.
