COAL MINE FATALITY - On Friday, May 12, 1995, a shuttle car operator was fatally injured when he was struck by another shuttle-car. The #3 shuttle-car operator (victim) had completed discharging a load of coal at the feeder located in the No. 3 entry. During the return trip to the face, the loaded #2 shuttle-car came out of a crosscut into the No. 3 entry hitting the #3 shuttle-car broadside. The #3 shuttle-car operator was pinned in the operator's deck by the #2 shuttle-car. This is the 15th coal mine fatality in 1995. As of May 12 last year there had been 18 fatalities.
