COAL MINE FATALITY - On Monday, December 18, 1995, a roof-bolting machine operator was attempting to cross a moving conveyor belt. The miner lost his balance and fell onto the belt, which carried him over a head roller, resulting in fatal injuries. This is the 44th coal mine fatality in 1995. As of December 18, of last year there had been 43 fatalities. This death is the 15th classified as POWERED HAULAGE in 1995. Line drawing of the accident sceneFor more information: |
