METAL/NONMETAL MINE FATALITY - On December 8, 1995, a crusher operator with 11 years of mining experience was killed at a traprock quarry. There were no witnesses to the accident. The victim was found slumped over on the walkway outside the crusher control booth. The medical examiner's report indicated that the victim had been electrocuted. This is the 44th fatality reported in calendar year 1995 in the metal and nonmetal mining industries. As of this date in 1994, there were 38 fatalities reported in these industries. This death is the sixth fatality classified as electrical this year. There were two electrical fatalities during the same period in 1994.
