• Safety belts and lines should be used when persons work where there is a danger of falling.



• Stairways, ladder ways and other forms of safe access should used when traveling from one floor to another.

This is the 28^th fatality reported in calendar year 2001 in the metal and nonmetal mining industries. As of this date in 2000, there were 46 fatalities reported in these industries. This is the fourth fatality classified as Slip/Fall of Person in 2001. There were six Slip/Fall of Person fatalities in the same period in 2000.
