Certain jobs require long hours of standing or sitting. These conditions can create back troubles.
Try to avoid fatigue caused by work requiring long standing. Change foot positions often. Flex hips and knees, and take pressure off your lower back, by often placing a foot on a rail, ledge, stool, bench, or other secure object. When possible, lean against a secure object for support.
Standing with knees locked while bending forward at the waist puts excess pressure on the low back. Most body weight is above the waist. Bending forward places your center of gravity forward and increases pressure.
If possible try to avoid working in a stooped position for prolonged periods. If it’s unavoidable, then interrupt this posture on a regular basis by standing upright and bending backwards six times.
