MSHA standards that apply to powered haulage equipment are applicable to forklifts, and MSHA training standards apply to forklift operators.
For additional forklift-specific information, OSHA information is used in this segment (and elsewhere in the course). In addition to MSHA compliance, OSHA compliance would normally be considered good safe practice at operations under MSHA jurisdiction. In fact, many companies have some operations under OSHA jurisdiction and some under MSHA jurisdiction, often with personnel and equipment moving between the two. It is especially advantageous for these companies to routinely comply with both OSHA and MSHA standards.
