Lift trucks that are used at night or in other dark environments must be equipped with both front and rear lights. A strobe light is also recommended for high traffic areas.

Q: What precautions should be taken when using lift trucks with internal combustion engines?

A: Fire precautions, ventilation, etc.

Q: What precautions should be taken near battery chargers for electrically powered lift trucks?

A: Eye wash stations should be available. A hoist should be available to change out batteries. Eliminate ignition sources in the area. Provide appropriate PPE for battery servicing personnel, such as goggles, gloves, aprons, etc.
