Appropriate bridge or dock plates are needed whenever lift trucks are driven onto trailers or railcars. These plates must be substantial enough to support a fully loaded lift. Secure portable dockboards in position, either by anchoring or equipping with devices which prevent their slipping. Ideally the plates are either automatic or placed by the forks. If the plates are manually positioned, they must be equipped with handholds.
