Some basic information on smaller overhead hoists is included in this material handling course.
The overall subject of cranes and rigging are beyond the scope of this course, but may be addressed in another course in this series. In the meantime, there are many existing sources of information available. Proper rigging and good attachment points, such as fully threaded lifting eyes and safety hooks, are just as important as the hoist itself.
