MOLYBDENUM

First, let's work on how to pronounce the word. It's fairly simple if you break it down into parts.

MAH --- LIB --- DA --- NUM

Around the industry, it's called Molly for short.

Almost all molybdenum is gotten from low grade deposits of another mineral called molybdenite. The four main producers of Molly are the U.S., Chile, Canada and the former Soviet Union. It is used in the manufacturing of some steels, cast irons and superalloys to make them harder, stronger, tougher, and wear and corrosion resistant. It's like a vitamin pill for iron.

Alot of the parts in rocket and jet engines have metals made with Molly. These are places that are really hot and ordinary steel would melt!
