MINE TOUR IS OPPORTUNITY FOR MCATEER TO GET MINER INPUT
The Assistant Secretary of Labor for Mine Safety and Health, J. Davitt McAteer, will be available for press interviews on Tuesday, April 25 at 1 p.m. at the Homestake Mining Co., 630 East Summit St., Lead, S.D.
McAteer heads the federal agency charged with enforcement of safety and health regulations at the nation's mines, mills, quarries, and sand and gravel operations.
McAteer will tour Homestake's operation as part of a nationwide effort to establish an open dialogue with miners. He will address workers at the operation, seeking their input on workplace safety and health matters they face everyday on the job.
