U.S. Mine Safety Director to Visit Alabama Quarry Operation

SYLACAUGA, Ala. - Dave D. Lauriski, assistant secretary of labor for mine safety and health, will visit the Imerys Gantts Quarry on Wednesday, April 2, 2003, at 1 p.m. The open pit mine, which produces crushed and broken marble, won the prestigious Sentinels of Safety award in 2002 for achieving the highest number of employee work-hours without an injury that resulted in lost time from work.
