MSHA Assistant Secretary Lauriski to Hold Press Conference on Dotiki Mine Rescue
Dave D. Lauriski, assistant secretary of labor for mine safety and health, will conduct a press conference at the Dotiki Mine on Thursday, March 25, in Nebo, Ky. Personnel from the Mine Safety and Health Administration, the Kentucky Department of Mines and Minerals, and Webster County Coal, LLC, worked at the underground mine to evacuate 70 miners endangered by a fire that began Feb. 11. Evacuation efforts took less than one hour.
Representatives from each organization will speak at the press conference.
