MSHA National Public-Safety Campaign Travels to Rolla, Mo.
ROLLA, Mo. - Dave D. Lauriski, assistant secretary of labor for mine safety and health, will discuss the 2004 "Stay Out-Stay Alive" national public-safety campaign at the Wyman Elementary School on Wednesday, April 7, in Rolla, Mo.
"Stay Out-Stay Alive" is a nationwide public-safety effort sponsored by the U.S. Department of Labor's Mine Safety and Health Administration. The campaign educates and warns children about the dangers of playing on mine property. Each year, dozens of people are injured or killed during recreational activities at active and abandoned mine sites.
