MSHA's Lauriski to Speak as 2004 Shoemaker Lecturer
in Mineral Engineering at Penn State University
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Dave D. Lauriski, assistant secretary of labor for mine safety and health, will discuss "Creating a Culture of Compliance" at Penn State University as the 2004 Shoemaker Lecturer in Mineral Engineering. The lecture is scheduled at the University Park, Pa., campus on Friday, April 23.
Lauriski is the first Mine Safety and Health Administration assistant secretary chosen to participate. He is the only individual representing the public sector to be named a lecturer. Established in 1992, the lecture series honors Penn State alumnus G. Albert Shoemaker, who had an eminent career in the mineral industries.
