MSHA Assistant Secretary to Speak at 34th Annual Institute on Mining Health, Safety and Research
SALT LAKE CITY - Dave D. Lauriski, assistant secretary of labor for mine safety and health, will give a speech titled "Institutionalizing a Culture of Prevention" at the 34th Annual Institute on Mining Health, Safety and Research on Monday, May 24. Lauriski will also receive the Safety Professional Award from the Institute during the luncheon scheduled for Salt Lake City.
Lauriski, a Utah native, has headed the U.S. Department of Labor's Mine Safety and Health Administration since May 2001.
