Federal Mine Safety Agency Deputy Assistant Secretary John Correll to
Deliver Keynote Address at National Safety Council Convention


NEW ORLEANS - John R. Correll, deputy assistant secretary of labor for mine safety and health, will discuss the past year's accomplishments and future plans for the U.S. Department of Labor's Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) at the National Safety Council's (NSC) 92nd Annual Congress & Expo. The speech is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 14 at the Morial Convention Center in New Orleans.

Correll will share the podium with John Henshaw, assistant secretary of labor for occupational safety and health, and Dr. John Howard, director of the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health.

MSHA and the NSC signed an alliance agreement in September 2003 to work together to enhance mining industry safety programs.
