Maintenance or Repair Work Message
    My Fellow Coal Miners-

Each year, coal miners performing maintenance work are severely injured or killed by a wide range of hazards including electrical shock, un-expected movement of machinery or equipment, or falling from platforms.

Before you begin any type of maintenance or repair work, take time to clear your work area of trip or fall hazards and follow these precautions:

First, always lock and tag electrical equipment. Never touch any electrical component until you are ABSOLUTELY SURE it is de-energized.

Let me repeat that: Always lock and tag electrical equipment. Never touch any electrical component until you are ABSOLUTELY SURE it is de-energized.

Second, always follow the equipment manufacturer's recommendations for doing any repair.

Third, ensure that the person doing the repair or maintenance is properly and adequately trained in safe work procedures.

Thank you for listening and always remember-safety is a value.
