#21 - Holiday Distractions
The holiday season is upon us - one of the happiest times of the year for most Americans. Unfortunately, this happy time can be one of the most dangerous times of the year for working miners.

Hello, I'm Bob Friend with the Mine Safety and Health Administration.

During the holiday season, it can be easy to lose focus on matters that may seem routine. At times like this, our thoughts can often drift to other matters rather than staying focused on important duties we may be performing.

MSHA asks that you maintain focus on safety by taking a minute to think about the task at hand as you go about your daily work.

Take all proper safety precautions so that you and your co-workers can continue to enjoy the holidays for many years to come.

Stay mindful of the potential hazards and dangers in the mining workplace that can bring unwanted tragedy to our lives.

We at the Mine Safety and Health Administration extend season's greetings to all of you during this holiday season.
