LONNY BADEAUX


Lonny Badeaux became involved with mine rescue while working at AKZO Salt’s, Avery Island Mine. He served as the mine rescue coordinator and team trainer for 19 years. His teams competed at 18 Regional competitions and 10 National contests and responded to provide assistance during 3 mine emergencies. In 1991, Lonny was instrumental in coordinating the command center during the Retsof Mine water inundation. Throughout his career, Lonny worked diligently to further mine rescue by holding leadership positions with both his Regional Association and the National Metal and Nonmetal Advisory Committee. Lonny retired in 2005 and currently resides in Louisiana with his wife.
