ARLON B. PARMER
Arlon (Boyde) has been involved in mine rescue since 1972. His many contributions began almost immediately when he participated in the recovery of the Morton Salt Mine in Grand Saline, Texas after a fire in 1972. Boyde has since been an active member contributing however he could, whether it be as a member of the MSHA National Advisory Rules Committee, team captain, team trainer or confidant to his fellow mine rescue associates at home and around the country. Under his leadership, his team always placed in the upper standings in regional and national mine rescue competitions. Boyde retired from the position of mine rescue team trainer in 1995 after 24 years of dedicated service.
