Title: Preshift Examination of Work Areas in Underground Coal Mines for Violations of Mandatory Safety or Health Standards
Abstract: MSHA will develop a proposed rule to reinstitute the provision in section 303(d) of the Federal Mine Safety and Health Act that requires mine operators to conduct preshift examinations in areas where miners work or travel, for violations of mandatory safety or health standards. This proposed rule will complement the request for information concerning Safety and Health Management programs for Miners (1219-AB71).
