Title: ĪMine Rescue Teams
|
|
Abstract: The United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit invalidated a portion of MSHA's Mine Rescue Teams final rule, applicable to underground coal mines. The Court's ruling requires state employees on state-sponsored mine rescue teams to train at small mines semi-annually instead of annually and to participate in two mine rescue contests annually instead of one. In addition, mine-site teams at small mines will have to train semi-annually instead of annually. MSHA will publish a final rule to conform the existing rule to the Court's decision.
