The final step in the law-making process is to provide notice to the public so that people are aware of what the new law requires. After a bill becomes a law, it is first published as an unbound pamphlet called a "slip law". The slip laws are combined into bound volumes called "Statutes at Large" that are published for each session of Congress. The provisions of the law are also incorporated into the United States Code, which contains all federal laws.
