SOSA Event Photo Gallery
Kingwood Elementary School
in Kingwood, West Virginia

Russell Riley, a Field Office supervisor in Ruff Creek, PA., recently gave a "Stay Out, Stay Alive" (SOSA) presentation at Kingwood Elementary School in Kingwood, West Virginia. Russell had 3 fourth grade classes participate in the event conducting 3 presentations, and also provided SOSA literature 75 fourth graders. In addition to discussing the importance of staying out of abandoned mines, the students also had the opportunity to look at gas detection equipment, steel toed boots, reflective clothing, and checked out other common mining related personal protective equipment.

The presentation really impacted the children because the SOSA video includes a portion from an incident that happened in West Virginia.
