Border Patrol agents have rescued a man who fell into an abandoned mine shaft near Naco in southern Arizona.

Rob Daniels of the Border Patrol said the rescue was made Monday after agents stopped a group of 14 illegal immigrants and learned a 15th had fallen into the mine. Agents and a local search and rescue team located the mine and pulled the man to safety.

``That's just another one of a number of things that the illegal aliens are facing -- unfamiliarity with the area," Daniels said.

The man suffered injuries to his legs, neck and back. They were not considered life-threatening.
