Bucks County men fall 70 feet while trespassing
at Lehigh County quarry, police say

BERKELEY A South Toms River teenager drowned in an abandoned mining pit Tuesday night, authorities said.

Two Bucks County men were rescued Sunday after they slid down a 70-foot embankment at a quarry in Washington Township, Lehigh County, near the Slatington border, Pennsylvania State Police report.

Ethan Michael Kasmer, 23, of Morrisville, Pa., and Joseph Aaron Parks, 22, of Bristol, Pa., were trespassing at "pigeon quarry" on property owned by 80-year-old Edwin L. Ziegler, of Slatington, when the mishap occurred, police said. Both Kasmer and Parks were cited for criminal trespass, police said.
