A Fitchburg, Mass., man remained in critical condition one day after flying off his dirt bike. The 22-year-old man was riding through a sand and gravel pit in Westminster, when he flipped off his bike and seriously injured his head. He was wearing gloves and a helmet at the time of the accident, according to authorities. The man was riding with three friends -- two were also on a dirt bike and one on a four-wheeler -- in an off-limits area. The owner of the gravel pit and surrounding land "doesn't allow anybody to ride there," according to Westminster police. The victim was semi-conscious but could not speak to rescue crews who arrived on the accident scene after a 911 call from one of his friends. The dirt roads leading up to the sand pit are gated.
