DOG PULLED FROM MINE SHAFT

Emergency crews rescued a dog Saturday afternoon after it fell 15 feet down a mine shaft while walking with its owner near the Switzerland Trail, the Boulder County Sheriff's Office said.

Officers were called to the trail about 13 miles west of Boulder off Sugarloaf Road.

Rescuers found the animal sitting on a ledge about 15 feet down the mine shaft hole. The dog wasn't injured.
