06/21/2005 An eastern Iowa man died while swimming in an old gravel pit south of Ocheyedan, Iowa. The 31-year-old man had been swimming in a county-owned sandpit lake where public swimming and fishing occur. The victim was swimming across the 141-yard lake with his brother-in-law when he became tired in water more than 10 feet deep.
