Indiana conservation officers searched a lake for a drowned man in Elizabeth, Ind., on Saturday night. The drowning happened around 6 p.m. at Beams Lake. The victim was 36-year-old Mike Harris of Elizabeth. Crews started their dive to find the body around 9 p.m. Saturday.

The lake is a former rock quarry, and officers didn't know exactly how deep the lake was. Harris was swimming with another person, who swam out to try to save him.

Ronald Beams, the lake owner, said the lake was dangerous. He said no-swimming signs and chains had previously been posted. But they keep getting torn down or ignored. (Source: WHAS-TV, Louisville)
