Trucks Plunge to Bottom of Quarry


Three people died and another was injured when the pickup truck they were in fell about 170 feet to the bottom of a Tulsa rock quarry.

The victims were aged 24, 23, and 21. The sole survivor of the crash, 19, was taken to an area hospital. She is expected to recover expected to recover, police said.

The driver of the truck and three passengers sped through a stop sign and continued onto the quarry site where they rode over an incline that caused them to travel more than 200 feet through the air and eventually land at the bottom of a gravel pit. All four passengers were ejected from the vehicle.
