Man Dies After Falling Nearly 200 Feet Down Mine Shaft

A 28 year-old Wyoming man died after falling nearly 200 feet to the bottom of an unstable and crumbling Nevada mine shaft. After two unsuccessful rescue attempts, officials determined that the mine was too treacherous to enter the shaft and try to reach the victim.

The victim went exploring with a couple friends when he fell into the open mine shaft. The Bureau of Land Management will permanently seal the shaft to prevent further accidents.
