A 37-year-old Wymore, Neb., man drowned in a sand pit northeast of Blue Springs. The victim had been swimming in the sand pit with friends when the friends lost contact with him, according to a Gage County sheriff's report. A dive team was called in from the Marysville, Kan., Search and Rescue team. (Source: Beatrice Daily Sun)
