A Rexburg, Idaho man died while exploring an abandoned mine northwest of Leadore in Lemhi County. The 25-year-old man and a group of friends were attempting to rappel into the Maryland Mine. The victim fell at least part of the approximately 100-foot drop. The Bureau of Land Management is posting signs warning the public to stay out of nearly 1,000 such sites in eastern Idaho. The Maryland Mine is on land managed by the Salmon-Challis National Forest. (Source: Associated Press)
