08-31-2004 An 85-year-old Amish man apparently fell out of his boat while fishing alone in a rock quarry and drowned. Authorities say the resident of Lackawannock Township, Mercer County, was pronounced dead at the quarry pond in Jefferson Township. Relatives apparently began looking for the victim when he did not return home after dark. Family members found him in the pond, pulled him ashore and called police. The drowning was ruled an accident. (Source: WKBN/WYFX -- Youngstown, Ohio) |
