A 41-year-old Long Island man was killed when his all-terrain vehicle collided head-on with another ATV at a sand pit in Manorville, N.Y. Visibility was ruled poor because of dust kicked up by the vehicles. The victim was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital, where he later died, according to Suffolk County police. The driver of the other vehicle, 29, was taken to the same hospital, where he was reported in critical but stable condition. The 32-year-old driver of a third ATV also involved in the accident suffered injuries described at the time as minor and was undergoing an X-ray examination. (Source: Newsday)
