A 27-year-old Bristol, Mass., man died after riding his dirt bike over a 30-foot cliff. The victim died of a broken neck after the midday accident, said Sgt. Joe Buffis of the Lee, Mass., police department. The embankment was part of a private, active gravel pit operation owned by Lane Construction. According to Buffis, there were signs posted in several places along the boundary to the gravel operation warning riders to keep out, that the land is private property and no trespassing is allowed. The rider was wearing a helmet, chest protector and other protective equipment at the time of the crash. (Source: The Bristol Press)
