HAZARD ALERT BULLETIN

URGENT NOTICE: Biosystems PhD Lite Multi-Gas Detector

On or about 30 October 2003, an "Urgent Safety Notice" was sent by Biosystems to all known customers who purchased their PhD Lite Multi-Gas Detector. According to the manufacturer, it is imperative that the use of the Biosystems PhD Lite units with software versions 3.00 through 3.18 be discontinued until each unit is re-flashed with version 2.04 software. Continued use of the unit without the software upgrade could result in an inability of the unit to actively detect gas while continuing to show safe readings regardless of ambient concentrations. This may result in an EXTREME HEALTH RISK. If you have a Biosystems PhD Lite Multi-gas Detector, please check its software version number. If it falls within the 3.00 and 3.18 range, stop using it and contact the manufacturer at (800) 711-6776 for further information or use this link.
