A Chronology of Events Week of January 24, 1999 On Tuesday, January 26, 1999, shortly before 5:00 p.m., elevated carbon monoxide concentrations were detected in Oxbow Mining, Incorporated's Sanborn Creek Mine, located near Somerset, Colorado. All employees were evacuated safely.
