Willow Creek Mine Explosion and Fire
Updates

Update for Thursday, August 10, 2000
Mine gas analysis is indicating a slow but steady downward trend in carbon monoxide levels at all sampling locations. This may be indicative of a decrease in thermal activity underground, but the samples are not from optimum locations to make a conclusive determination.

Water continues to be pumped into the longwall gob.
