District 5 - Coal Mine Safety and Health
Holmes Certificate of Honor
On Thursday, February 12th, 2004, Mr. Dallas Chaffins was presented with a Holmes Certificate of Honor for his career in underground coal mining. Mr. Chaffins has accumulated 55 years of underground coal mining service without incurring a lost time injury. He was presented the award at the regular quarterly meeting of the Lonesome Pine Council of the Joseph A. Holmes Safety Association. The meeting was held at the Bonanza Restaurant in Lebanon, Virginia. Approximately 70 were in attendance for the meeting, and Mr. Chaffins received a standing ovation while accepting the award. |
