On Friday, March 31, 2006, Mr. Joe Wagner was presented a safety award from MSHA for his safety accomplishment in coal mining. Top management from District 5 traveled to the mine site to present him with the award. Mr.Wagner has accumulated in excess of 35 years of underground coal mining service without incurring a lost time injury.

On Thursday, April 13th, he was also recognized with a Holmes Certificate of Honor at the regular quarterly meeting of the Lonesome Pine Council of the Joseph A. Holmes Safety Association. The meeting was held at Prime Sirloin Restaurant in Norton, Virginia. Approximately 35 individuals were in attendance for the meeting, including members of Mr. Wagner's family. Again, we would like to commend Joe on his exceptional accomplishment in coal mine safety.
