A Very Close Call

On Wednesday, August 11, 2004, at approximately 1:15 p. m. a truck driver sustained a concussion, fractured ankle and fractured hip. After loading an A25 Volvo truck with refuse, the victim drove down grade approaching a 19 percent incline. The driver exited the cab. The truck continued down hill for another 140 feet before contacting the right-side berm. It traveled up the berm causing the cab to turn right and the dump to articulate and rotate onto its side.
