Duty 22:  Install Mobile  Tailpiece Conduct exam Obtain and examine tools and materials Two 50' 3/4" hydraulic hoses with 3/4" quick couplers on both end Hammer Rock bar Come-a-long Obtain the mobile tailpiece with the 620 duck bill scoop from track Position the mobile tailpiece centered across the duck bill Secure with winch rope Back away from the track Back into the first crosscut Take mobile tailpiece to the goose neck duck bill first Lower the duck bill Unhook the winch rope Shut scoop down Position the mobile tailpiece Hook two hydraulic hoses to the tailpiece and PTO on the 620 duck bill scoop Engage PTO Maneuver mobile tailpiece into final position using the controls on the walkway side Install the pins in the fifth wheel See diagram/photo(s) Raise stageloader by extending  the stab jacks on the mobile tailpiece Remove the crib under the goose neck Lower stageloader by retracting stab jacks Shut off scoop Remove 3/4" hydraulic hoses Clean up any spilled oil Back scoop out of the way Install angle blade scrapper on goose neck Obtain angle blade scrapper with lo-trac Load on forks Tram to goose neck Place under goose neck and pin Install stageloader chain Obtain chain box with 620 duck bill scoop Place chain box at the tail sprocket of stageloader Hook 3/4" wire rope sling with clevis Lay cap board across chains on the outby end of the first flight Hook scoop up to 3/4" wire rope sling Pull slowly Guide flight into trough with rock bar After the first flight engages, the chain should pull through without problems CAUTION:  Do not attempt to guide chain with rock bar while chain is being pulled by scoop.  Stop scoop to make any adjustments to the chain Pull with scoop until chain is completely through the stageloader Unhook cable from scoop Take other end of cable to the other end of stageloader Re-hook the scoop Pull the cable and the chain until all chain is into the stageloader Connect chain Tension chain before operating Remove all debris and materials Duty 23: Install Cables and Hoses in the Pan Line Conduct exam Obtain and examine tools and materials Chisel Hammer Rags Ladies slipper Punch Screw driver Rock bars 2 - 18" pipe wrenches 12" crescent wrench 2" super stecko staples Lo-trac Obtain cables and hoses with lo-trac and take to headgate Install and guard the cables from the 8 Bay to all motors See Energy Control Plan See diagram Connect hoses from the end of monorail down side of stageloader on the walkway side to the headgate See diagram Continue on from the headgate to the tailgate with hoses and cables Cables do not need to be guarded when they are behind the covers in the pan Place shield power supply boxes and cables Obtain metal supply box with power supplies with the lo-trac Load box onto forks and secure with winch rope Tram to headgate Place a power supply box, ISO adapter, and cable at each of the following locations in the pan line (on accu-trac) Shield #5, 25, 45, 65, 85, 105, 125, 145, 165, 170 170 is the termination box Distribute the shield lighting equipment Obtain metal supply box with lighting equipment supplies with the lo-trac Load box onto forks and secure with winch rope Tram to headgate Place a florescent light, a splitter cable, and a light cable in the pan line (on accu-trac) Shield #1, 2, and 3 and every other shield until the last three, each of those will have a light Distribute face phone Obtain metal supply box with face phone with the lo-trac Load box onto forks and secure with winch rope Tram to headgate Place a face phone in pan line (on accu-trac) Shield #6 and at every eighth shield until they are all placed Place a termination box with the last phone Distribute shield hose kits Obtain metal supply box with shield hose kit with the lo-trac Load box onto forks and secure with winch rope Tram to headgate Place a shield hose kit in the pan line every 20 to 25 shields starting from the headgate Remove all debris and materials Duty 24:  Installing Shields on the Face Conduct exam Obtain and examine tools and materials Chisel Hammer Rags Ladies slipper Punch Screw driver Rock bars 1 1/4" stecko staples 2" staples 3/4" staples 1/2" staples 3/8" staples Electra-clean Anti-seize 3/4" and 1/2" male staple lock plugs 50 foot 1/2" slave line with two 1/2" ball valves 1/2" T staple lock fitting 1/2" female to a 3/4" female staple lock adapter 3/4" staple lock coupling GPU box Obtain shields from shield car with 620 duck bill scoop Pull scoop to the side of shield car Align duck bill scoop with the side of the shield car level with the shield car floor Set brake on scoop Run off enough winch cable to reach the center of the shield Place hook in the shield canopy center hole of the shield canopy next to PM4 Retract winch cable pulling shield onto duck bill As the shield is being winched, it will spin onto the duck bill canopy end toward the operator CAUTION:  All persons is the area should be aware of shield movement and rocks on top of the shield.  Stay out of the area where cable/hook could break and cause fatal injury. Lift duck bill up Tram duck bill to tailgate area where shield is to be set Set shields with 620 duck bill scoop Articulate scoop to the right Lower shield back down to the bottom Put slack in winch cable Tram scoop back 2' Shut down scoop Hook slave line to the shield Hook the GPU to the shield Close the bleed valve on the slave line Slowly open the pressure valve CAUTION:  Very high pressure (5000 psi) on these lines and there could be damage lines or fittings Raise shield to within 1 foot of the top using the GPU CAUTION:  No one may go under the shield while being raised Remove winch cable after shield is raised Turn off slave line at shield and bleed pressure slowly Raise duck bill up Turn scoop to left Lower shield to bottom Back scoop up Raise duck bill up aligning with pontoon of shield Slowly push into place Close the bleed valve Slowly open the pressure valve Extend the relay bar using the GPU Connect relay bar to pan line Install horizontal pin and keeper Raise shield to top Turn leg jacks off 1/2" cut off valve on each leg Turn off slave line pressure and bleed slowly Install base lift jack There are two different styles Repeat this process until all shields are installed Note:  The three headgate shields are larger and are numbered 1, 2, and 3 and will be the last shields installed Hosing shields Examine hoses and replace as necessary Remove hoses from the headgate side of the manifold on all shields that are looped Install these hoses from the tailgate side of the shield to the ports on headgate side of adjacent shield The headgate special shields and tailgate shields require longer hoses at step down Clean all hose fittings Check O-rings, back-up ring, and damage to hoses Examine and clean manifold Coat the male fitting with anti-seize Install male end of hose into the manifold Connect lines in the sequence listed below: Hook up 3/4" water line first Install 3/4" staple on water line connection Staples must be installed through both holes provided in the fittings CAUTION:  Improperly installed staples could cause serious injury or death Hook up 3/4" pressure line Install 3/4" staple on pressure line connection Hook up 2" return line Install 2" staple on return line connection Hook up 1 1/4" shield to shield pressure hose Install 1 1/4" super stecko staple on connection Check the staples on the previous shield to be sure they are installed correctly Replace any damage or worn staples Repeat this process for each shield Remove all debris and materials
