On October 14, 1999, the New Zealand Department of Labour, Occupational Safety and Health Service is in the issued new health and safety regulations for underground mining. The regulations include numerous provisions including those relating to such issues as inspections, accidents, ventilation, and explosives. The new regulations should be posted on the Department's web site in the near future.
